BOXING AT AUCKLAND

SUMMERS BEATS McKAY McKAY DEFEATS- WISE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Two professional contests were featured on the Auckland Boxing Association’s programme at the Town Hall last night. Both were in the lightweight division and scheduled as 10 three-minute rounds. The main bout was between Bert McKay, of Auckland, and Harry Summers, of Australia. The latter was an easy winner on points, proving himself to be a more scientific boxer than the rugged tighter who opposed him.

The first match resulted in a win for Brian McKay, of Auckland, a brother of Bert McKay, who won at the end of the fifth round when his opponent, Les Wise, of Australia, had a badly-cut eyebrow.
