As the climax to a secret investigation lasting several months, detectives to-day rounded up approximately !)0 persons, including 50 employees of the finance department of the city, for interrogation on alleged sales tax swindlesThe comptroller, Mr. Joseph. McGoldrick, said* the investigation revealed that men assigned to the collection of emergency revenues had conspired! with the heads of large business firm's to cheat the city of millions of dollars.
