MATCH WITH KOPUAWHARA GILS BORNE V.M.C.A. WIN (Herald Correspondent.) This week the Kopuawhara Table Tennis Club was favoured with a visit from the Gisborne Y.M.C.A. Club team. After a good evening, during which some very good play was in evidence, Gisborne emerged the victors by 14 games to six, but as far as points were concerned there was not such a great difference. The following are the scores in detail. Gisborne players being mentioned first in each case:— Singles.—Knox d. Carter, 22—20: Anderson d. Kelly 21 —13; Knox lost to Hornig, -17 —21; Hannah d. Burrows, 21—15; Anderson d. Cater, 21 —18: Hannah lost to Kelly, 14—21; Cox d. Hornig, 23—21; Knox d. Hornig, 21—18; Hannah d. Cater? 21—17; Cox lost to Kelly, 19—21; Anderson d. Hornig 21 —15; Knox d. Burrows, 21 —19; Cox d. Cater, 21 — 18; Hannah d. Hornig, 21 —17; Anderson d. Burrows,227;1 —7; Knox lost to Kelly, 19 —21. Doubles.—Hannah and Cox lost to Kelly and Cater, 18 —21; Knox and Robb d. Hornig and Burrows, 24—22; Knojc and Anderson lost to Kelly and Cater, 11 —21;, Hannah and Cox d. Hornig and Burrows. ■ In the weekly club tournament, Miss Nolan defeated Mrs. Kennedy, 31 —28, and Burrows, defeated Jas. Kennedy in the finals. At the conclusion of the evening Mr. Les. W. Anderson, Gisborne, thanked the Kopuawhara club for a most enjoyable time, and Mr. C B Hornig replied.
