RETURN FROM ISLANDS

BLANDER AT AUCKLAND (jVr Pr<*m-j Assoclntion.) AUCKLAND, this day. Concluding a six weeks’ cruise to Suva, Nukualofa, Rarotonga, Borabora and Tahiti, the cruiser Lcander ‘returned to port this morning. The trip was- uneventful. Fine weather was enjoyed throughout and the crew is in good health. The warship waited at Bonabora an extra day because of a report of a smallpox outbreak at Tahiti, but on arrival it was found there was no danger. During a tennis match at Tahiti, Commander H. V. P. McClintoek was struck in. the right eye by a tennis ball suffering an injury necessitating his staying in toed during the reminder of the voyage. He was visited by a surgeon this morning, ’.'Gen his condition was stated to be improved'. The injury is not serious.
