Singles games at Sea-bright to-day in the Americso zone final of the Davit Cup elimination series resulted:— 'Bromwich (Australia) defeated Asuoro (Cuba). 3 —G, o—t),0 —t), G—2. Quisl; (Australia) defeated Morales (Cuba). G—o. C—2, 6—2. Aguoro was at set point in the first set, although Bromwich had achieved a 4-3 lead. The Cuban drew the Australian to the net and passed, him frequently, 'but Bromwich, who opened lazily, soon had things well in hand, particularly aider he had staved off his opponent at the latter’s set point. Ho then quickly ran out-the set. He concluded the match with even less ado. - 'Bromwich, speaking to- the Australian Associated Press correspondent, said: “I had no confidence in irfy strokes beer use I have not had any real competition since leaving Australia. Quist’s -baseline game was very accurate, but it was evident that he will need some good practice in the next few weeks. It is reported that the Japanese tennis authorities arc anxious to have one or two members cf the Australian tepm play in Japan on the way home.
