HEADLINERS' NIGHT OFF
DICTATORS AT THEATRES 'GOEBBELS IN GONDOLA (Independent Cable Service.) (Reed. Aug. 11, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. Europe’s “headliners” took a night off yesterday. Signor Mussolini saw four acts of “Carmen,” and Herr Hitler saw Mozart’s “Don Giovannc” at the Salzburg music festival. The Nazi Propaganda Minister, Dr. Goebbels, voyaged in a gondola across Venice Lagoon to the Lido, while just ahead of him the soprano Toti Dal Monte, towed on a raft, sang Venetian folk songs. The French Premier, M. Daladier, was on board a rich friend’s yacht in the Mediterranean.
