GIRL REFUGEES’ JOBS
SERVICE IN AUSTRALIA DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY LONDON, Aug. 2. A woman doctor of philosophy, speaking four languages, is bound for -Sydney to take up domestic service. She is a refugee, Sidonie Lenzer, aged 25. ..... Twenty-four daughters of professional men from Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia left by the Esperarice Bay oh Saturday for Australia to fill positions in domestic service under the auspices of the Anglican Migration Council. ■ Five ■ will go to Perth and the remainder are bound for Sydney. Some speak three languages. Miss Lenzer gained her doctor’s degree at Vienna University. The Bishop of Chichester gave a valedictory blessing at Australia House to the girl refugees, who are Christians. The cost of their migration is being borne by tne Christian Council, out of money subscribed as the result of the broadcast appeal by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
