MISS ENID EBBITT CHOSEN WATROA QUEEN CARNIVAL (Special to tho Herald.) WAIROA, this day. The first shots in the queen carnival campaign which is being conducted to raise money for Wairoa’s centennial memorial were fired on Wednesday evening when a well attended meeting of business representatives was held in the Borough Council chambers. The meeting was to nominate a business queen and make the necessary arrangements for her campaign. Miss Enid Ebbiti was the young woman chosen for tiie honour of representing (he business houses of Wairoa and a plan of campaign in an effort to ensure her topping the poll whs Hilly discussed, and organised. The necessary committees were elected, and it was decided to open the campaign with a hard-up and a back-10-childhood dance .to be held at the end of next month.
