The deputation requested that the Government consider placing all primary producers of foodstuffs on flic same basis as fishermen regarding the rebate on petrol; that it should institute an inquiry into transport costs in the Nelson province; that it should grant relief from the social security tax on foodstuffs produced by farmers on their farms; that it should abolish or alleviate the heavy traffic fees on orchard is ts’ lorries, and that an inquiry should be made into the rating system in Hawk.es’ Bay and that an improvement ibe made in the telephone service in relatively densely populated back country areas.
