RUGBY AND BASKETBALL
SCHOOL FRIENDLY GAMES TE KANAKA AND FIJIIA (Herald Correspondent.) On Monday afternoon two basketball and two football teams representing Pttha School visited To Karaka to play friendly matches with pupils of the primary department of the To Karaka District High School. Transport was provided by Puha residents, who, together with the players, were entertained at afternoon tea in the school grounds. The basketball games were fairly even, despite the fact that the final; scores were:—A. teams: To Karaka 12, Puha 5. B teams: To. Karaka 12, Puha nil. Puha A team included: Mary Campbell, captain, Annie Wilson, Daisy Puia, Barbara Dymock, Olive Peach, Margaret Mulholland, Betty Baylev, Dorothy Thompson, and Azalea Edmonds. Te Karaka A. —Norah Jones, Gladys Jones, Barney Karauria, Merle Atkins, Joy Clayden, Olive Clayden. Louisa Jones, Ruth Jackson, and Janie Tuapawa. Puha B.—Beatrice Mooney, cantain, Malta Tu, Jenna August, Valerie How Chow, Olive Mooney, Laurel Greatba'*ch, Joyce Barr. Sarah Marti, and Gladys Mulholland. Te Karaka B.—Minnie Johnson. Betty Brown, Betty Boniface. Leone Atkins, Matira Rum. Thelma Nisbctt. Audrey Smithers, Mary Tuapawa. and Ray Jackson. Emergencies:— Mary Charteris and Nuki Brown. Willing Football.
