BIG RUGBY FIXTURE

MATCH WITH AUCKLAND ALL CODES ARE ACTIVE TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW The principal sporting fixture in Gisborne to-morrow probably will be the representative Rugby match between Poverty Bay and Auckland, to be played on the Oval at 2.45 p.m. The curtain-raiser to this fixture will be the annual match between the first fifteens of tile Gisborne and Hastings High Schools. Both teams have defeated the Napier High School this season and are very evenly matched. A good display is expected. The annual “Rtinfairly” Shield match between the Referees’ team and the combined Fire Brigade-Band team also will be played as an early attraction at the Oval. Some change has been made in ’he emergencies for the Poverty Bay team to meet Auckland and the team now reads as follows: —Backs, T. Scholium, W. Hoy. A. I. McAneney, R. A. Short, M. J. Sharp, T. C. Sinilcr, W. Morrison; forwards, R. Rogers. C. Wrightson, W. E. Aitken. M. A. J. O’Brien, G. H. Phillips, F. N. Twigg, H. C. Anderson, and C. McGrannachan. Emergencies: Backs, J. Short and M. Smiler: forwards, W. Johnston, A. Barty and W. Holmes.

The Referees ’team to play the Band-Fire Brigade team will be as follows.—Backs, W. McKeague, W. J. Wilkie, V. Norman, captain, E. Sharpe, J. Gabolinscy, J. Lockwood, E. Fcl+on; forwards, J.
