FLYING-BOAT BASES
TASMAN AND PACIFIC AUCKLAND FACILITIES (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day In preparation for the commencement of both the Pacific and Tasnvm air services, the work of providing mooring, landing and other ground facilities at the bases in Mechanics' Bay is now well advanced. The fitting of a large new workshop and the unpacking of equipment are being carried out by the stall' of Tasman Empire Airways, Limited, while at the neighbouring headquarters of Pan-American Airways the gear is being overhauled and commissioned. Pan-American'Airways' control launch now lies at anchor, and the final work is 'belig done on the two fast tenders which are to be launched for the Tasman service.
At both bases night flares and landing lights have been prepared for operation.
