The Sydney Morning Herald says that Ministers arc convinced that the State Government under the Premiership of Mr. A. Mair is assured a period of stability and that the former Minister, Mr. E. S. Spooner. and his followers will not challenge the Ministry before Christmas. The Daily Telegraph says that Mr. Mair is faced with a dilemma. "He lias committed the Government to earmarking the whole of the wages and .special income taxation for the employment services, which means that he will have to find £2,500,000 to carry on the other services which are now financed from the wages and special income taxation," states the Herald. These consist of family endowment, charitable relief, widow's pensions, relief to deserted wives, child maintenance and miscellaneous services.
