Heavy Rotorua Frost
Low temperatures on Sunday evening presaged a heavy frost at Rotorua on Monday morning, and the result was one of more than moderate severity. The Tourist Department's gauge gave a reading of 19.2 degrees Fahrenheit, or 11.2 degrees of frost, taken from the official freezing-point of 30.4 degrees. The frost stayed on the ground for several hours before a complete thaw .set in,, and in sheltered ;.,oots ice coated any casual water for most' of the day.
