COASTAL TRADE The Wainui completes discharge and loading here to-day and sails for Napier, thence to Wellington and South Island ports, where she is to load again for Gisborne and Napier. The Rata is expected to leave Greymouth to-day with coal, timber and posts for Gisborne.

The Pukeko reached Gisborne at 5.55 p.m. yesterday from. Wellington and berthed at (>.30 a.m. to-day. The ship .sails about (> p.m. [for Napier and Wellington, and at the latter port she loads on Friday and Saturday tor Napier and Gisborne.

The Kopara left Wellington at 1 p.m. on Saturday for Lyttelton, where she loads to-da'y for Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne and the Coast. The vessel is expected to discharge here on Thursday. The Pakura, which left Gisborne on Saturday night for Napier, clears the Hawke’s Bay port to-day for Portland and Auckland. The vessel loads cement at Portland and general cargo at Auckland, and clears the latter port on Thursday for Coast bays, Gisborne and Napier.

HOMEWARD LOADINGS Gisborne Roadstead

Karamea (Shaw, Savill; agents, Dalgeity and Company), from Auckland, loads meat and general cargo at Gisborne August 19 —21. Leaves Wellington August 2G for London, via Cape Horn, arriving Home about October 1. Maimoa (Shaw, Savill; agents, Common, Shelton and Company), from New Plymouth, loads meat and dairy produce at Gisborne September 13-14 for London and west coast ports of the United Kingdom. Leaves Auckland on September 21 for London, via Panama and Kingston. Tokomaru Bay Roadstead Tongariro (New Zealand Shipping Company), from Wellington, loads meat and general cargo at Tokomaru Bay August 20-23. Leaves Auckland on August 29 for Southampton, London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, FIRE DAMAGES SCOW A cal! to a fire in the scow Maggie about 4.15 a.m. on Friday was answered 'by four Auckland lire brigades. The fire was quickly suppressed by an extinguisher after slight damage had been caused to the engine room rand living quarters. Owned by J. J. Craig, Limited, 'the scow was berthed alongside the sea-wall on the eastern .side of King's wharf.

DOMINION MONARCH On her second voyage to New Zealand, via South Africa and Australia, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's new 27,000-ton motor liner Dominion Monarch left Southampton on Friday. The vessel’s first port of call will be Madeira, a favourite cruising and health resort which has been substituted for Teneriffe on both the outward and homeward passages. The Dominion Monarch is due at Wellington on September 8. VOYAGE TO HONGKONG The Shell Company’s motor-tanker Paua, which visited Gisborne last week, is to leave the Dominion »about two months for Hong Kong, where extensive alterations will be carried out to give the vessel greater cargo capacity. However, before she clears New Zealand the ship will pay a further call at Gisborne, arriving here about the first week in September from Wellington. When the Paua left Gklborne last Wednesday evening for Auckland it 'was thought that she would return to Gisborne in about a week with bulk benzine. She is to leave Auckland to-morrow for the East Coast, but her call at Gisborne has been deferred until next month. The Paua was to have left New Zealand last month for Hcn.g Kong, but t'he voyage was postponed.
