CHAMBERLAIN’S SPEECH REARMAMENT SURVEY (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 5. The Times, commenting on the speech of the Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain. on Friday, which the Manchester Guardian describes as the most candid that he bad ever made on the subject of rearmament, observes that the chiefs of other States ‘‘can hardly be so unimaginative as to ignore Mr. Chamberlain's survey of the measures to which Britain might be driven.”
The Times adds: “As lie pointed out, the present situation in Europe is not one in which Britain would willingly disperse its naval forces.”
