Fined For Fighting
On a charge of fighting on the main road at Jerusalem, Haua Waiti and Tauloru Tuhara appeared before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Police Court in Ruatoria on Thursday. Waiti was fined £1 and costs £1 4s and Tuhara was fined £2 and costs £l. Missionaries’ Stipends The opinion that stipends paid to married! home mission agents associated with the Presbyterian Church were inadequate was expressed by the Rev. G. A. Naylor and the Rev. J. M. McKenzie at a meeting of the Waikato presbytery. A resolution was passed urging that general assembly should take steps to ensure that married home missionaries should receive a minimum f i' with an addition of £lO a year for each child under 16 years of age.
