False Pretences Charge
Charges of vagrancy and false prefences were brought against John Arhtur Blackwell, aged 63, before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Gisborne Police Court to-day. Ihe charge of false pretences related to an incident in Wairoa, wheic the accused was alleged to have obtained L 5 from John Douglas Paimintei by pretending to be the manager of Ridgemount station. Senior-Sergeant j p jj ivTflcnnnicit’ci stuted that the accused was arrested on Saturday, and a*, other charges were pending he asked for a remand, which was granted.
