The New Zealand bandminlon team beat South Australia by six rubbers, ;2 sets, to one rubber, three sets. Mrs. Hawksworth won, 11 —3, 11 —7; Hawksworth won, 15 —5, 15 —8; Pearce iost, 15 —hi, 18—13; (Mrs. Hawksworth and Miss Kerr won, 15 —11, 15 —8; . .i s. and Mr. Hawksworth won, 15 —8, 15—11; Miss Kerr won, 11—12, 11 —9, . t—2; Hawksworth and Pearce won, ;5—5, 15—3.
The visitors left a memory of coordinated play. The women’s smashing tactics were also educational. Mrs. Hawksworth revealed a wonderful facility for eliminating errors in the singles. She had marked control of drop shots and was always in the right place. Miss Kerr taught lessons in smashing.
The team left Adelaide on Sunday full of confidence for the test match at Melbourne on Tuesday and Wednesday.
