WHATATUTU NEWS

BIRTHDAY PARTY (Herald Correspondent.) A delightful birthday party was given by Mrs. R. N. King, Whatatutu, at her home in honour of the sixth birthday of her small son Jim. The children were kept amused with games out-of-doors and later went inside to the spacious sitting-room, where a table was gaily decorated with good things to eat, pride of place being given to a birthday cake in the centre of the table. A cheery log fire gave welcome warmth and Iceland poppies decorated the room. Mrs. King welcomed her guests wearing a black flat crepe frock trimmed with touches of green. I The little folk, present were Mary Hollis, Echo Elmers, Peter Harris, Bertie Tait, Michael and Ron Walker, Sefton Gregory, John Collins, Peter Seebeck, Doris Evans, Pat King, Dave and Billie Hollis, and Jim King. The adults included Mr. and Mrs. R. N. King, Mr. and Mrs, J. King, Mr. and Mrs. H. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. J. King, jun., Mr. and Mrs. P. Evans, Mesdames C. A. Evans, G. J. Gregory, and C. A. Collins; Misses R. King and V. Seymour; Messrs. G. King, K. Campbell, E. Burch, and T. Mitchell.
