HOUSE COMMITTEE PLAN DECISION DEFERRED (Britisfi Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 3. In a statement made in the House of Commons yesterday on the proposal for a joint .Parliamentary committee on colonial questions, the Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, said the Government appreciated the anxiety of members that' an opportunity should be afforded the House of .keeping closer touch with colonial problems.

The particular proposal for the creation, of a Parliamentary committee no doubt presented certain advantages, but it raised issues of Parliamentary procedure and constitutional practice of a far-reaching character, which required very careful consideration. He hoped to make a -more definite statement of the Government’s intentions in the autumn.
