State Expenditure

Sir,—l notice that the Government proposes to borrow. £19,000,000 this year. The Budget, however, is silent, as to where this is coming from. It is silent on a still more'important matter, and that is, what is being done to pay off the money Mr. Nash has borrowed in London. It .has to be met at the rate of about £2,000,000 a year. But no provision is made for (his in the Budget at all, and no provision is made either for the £2,000,000 odd which the doctors Will receive when medical benefits come in. So even with the increased taxation, and the new petrol and beer taxes, we will still be at least £4,000,000 short. What is to be done about this? CURIOUS.
