Topical Press Photo. SAFETY FOR EMPLOYEES.—Sir John Anderson, Lord Privy Seal, last month visited the works of Standard Telephones and Cables, Limited, at New Southgate, London, where he witnessed a demonstration of the A.R.P. arrangements, which are unique. The shelters are concrete tunnels with steel doors, these doors in turn being protected by concrete structures. Built facing the works, the shelters will accommodate all the employees, over six thousand, who have been trained for orderly evacuation in a few minutes. The picture shows the evacuation taking place as part of the demonstration.
