BLAME FOR GREAT WAR BRITAIN AND FRANCE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED MILLION UNDER ARMS (Eloc. Tel. Copyright—Unitod Press Assn,) (Reed. Aug. 3, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 2. Messages from Berlin state that 1,000,000 men of. flhe German standing army are participating in celebrations throughout Germany of the twentyfifth anniversary of the outbreak of the Greiat War Reservists are now being called up, and this will mean that 2,000,000 men wilt be under arms by the end of the month. The German press is extending its campaign of vilification of England and blames Britain and France for the Great War and a renewed intention to smash Germany. The German Commander in Chief, General Brauchitsch, and the Air Minister, Field Marshal Goering, issued special orders of the day to mark the anniversary of the Great War. They .stressed Germany’s peace will, but said that Germany’s military superiority and determination to fight if war were forced on her would lead to victory. General Brauchitsch .said 'that the same forces which “forced war on Germany in 1914” were trying to encircle her now. Marshal Goering said: “I have done my best in the past years to make the German air force .the biggest and most powerful in the world. The air force stands ready to-day to carry out any of the Fuehrer’s orders with lightning speed’and unimaginable impact.”
