CYCLIST IN FLAMES
While cycling along Purley Way, Croydon, Surrey, William Smith, aged 19, of Guy road, Beddington, Surrey, suddenly found himself enveloped in flames. He was taken to Croydon General Hospital, where he was detained. Smith works at a petrol station, and it is believed that his petrol-stained garments were ignited by a cigarette thrown from a passing motor car.
