WAIROA, this day. ••Incidents” in last Saturday's Rugby matches in Wairoa resulted in five players, three senior and two thirds, being dealt with at a meeting of the management committee of the Wairoa County Rugby Sub-Union on Tuesday evening. Reporting on the Nuhaka v. Athletic senior fixture the referee, Mr. A. E. Nightingale, said that it was a very tough game. Mr. ,1. McGregor mentioned that one player had been selected for the junior representative fixture against Poverty Bay next Saturday. Mr. O’Malley: He will not he able to play in that ease. The selector, Mr. C. Hall, pointed out that another player was in the Wairoa team selected to meet Poverty Bay on Saturday for the Barry Cup. He* would be unavailable for Saturday also and that made a total of three men who would have to be replaced in the senior representative team. ‘Tt cannot be helped,” replied Mr. O'Malley. "We cannot differentiate between the players.” Reporting on the High School v. Athletic third grade match last Saturday, the referee, Mr. R. E. Lunny, stated that it was a good game spoilt at times by over-willingness. The two players ordered) off were having a stand-up fight in the middle of the field. The acting-chairman expressed the view that if the players were not punished in the junior stage they might get the idea in their heads that they could repeat the offence. On the motion of Mr. F.
