Five thousand people wildly cheered the Yugoslav victory over the German players. The Germans considered that the enthusiasm of the crowd spoiled their game and they resented their defeat. They also caustically commented on the behaviour of the crowd, Henkel intimating that no German tennis players would again play in Zagreb.
