IMPORT FUNDS
Monthly amounts authorised by the Reserve Bank in payment for licensed imports, it is stated, are lo be treated ns cumulative when not used in the specified months. This concession by the Reserve Bank is of extreme importance to traders, for it will mean that if a firm was allocated an amount for August, for example, and remittance was not required in that month, the balance could be carried over to any of the subsequent months covered by the permit and then expended in payment for the goods for which it was designed. On the other hand, remittances cannot be made prior to the authorised date.
