DR. WILLIAM -i. MAYO (Por Press Associntion.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The death occurred yesterday of Dr. William. J. Mayo, head of the famous Mayo Foundation at Rochester, U.S.A., according to a cablegram received this morning by Dr. P. Stanley Foster, president of the New Zealand branch of the B.M.A. Dr. Mayo was recognised as the greatest surgeon of the world. Ilis younger brother died a month ago.
