Severe Frost in Napier
Evidence that the present winter is one of the coldest on record is provided by the fact that frost this week has penetrated tiie .glasshouses at the Napier Borough Council’s nursery at Nelson Park. "This is the first occa:on i have known it to happen in ‘he 22 years I have been here,” said Mr. C. W. Corner, reserves superintendent. "The.frost actually nipped nd blackened a number of speci"cn.s in the glasshouses.'’ Panes of glass in the glasshouses were also -racked and broken 'by frost.
