BRIDGES IN LIBEL SUIT
CLAIM FOR £20,000 MADE SAN FRANCISCO, July 21. A libel complaint, asking for £20,000 damages has, been served on Harry Bridges, the Australian-born Labour leader, as one of several defendants, including Mr. J. L. Lewis, organiser of the Committee for Industrial Organisation. , / It is alleged that the official mazazine of the Committee for Industrial Organisation of Lumber Workers has sought “to destroy, defame and disrupt” the Oregon and * Washington States’ Council of Lumber and Sawmill workers, which is a ur.iou affiliated to the American Federation of Labour.
