MINISTER'S STIPEND

TURANGA PASTORATE £202 OF NATIVE RENTS (Herald Correspondent.) Authority to set a'side £262 17s fid out of rents from the Arai Matawai block for the purpose of liquidating the proportion of the minister's stipend due from certain sections of the Turanga pastorate was given at a meeting of owners of -the block in M'anutuke this week. The Tairawhiti Maori Land Board was authorised to make the payment in three annual amounts o'f £B7 12s 6d to the Waiapu diocehan office. Napier, subject to the confirmation of the board. The meeting also decided to set aside £IOO out of rent, half to be devoted to the remodelling of the Whakato carved meeting house and the other half for the renovation of the dining hall at Manuluke. The Tairawhiti Maori Land Board was represented at the meeting by Mr. P. Tureia.
