Sydney.—July 28: Sailed, from Newcastle, Kekeiiangu, for Auckland. Additional Bowling Tournaments With a view to providing all bowlers with a game while centre tournaments were in progress a suggestion that the club hold consolation tournaments was offered by Mr. J. A. Eaton at the annual meeting of the Kahutia Bowling Club, last evening. Mr. Eaton said that all members could not take part in centre competitions such as the Peace Shield and the Burton Trbphy and the incoming executive might well consider the advisability of arranging consolation tournaments to be held while the major events were in progress. This would enable all bowlers to be sure of some play while the selected rinks from the club took part in the trbphy events. The consolation tournament could be an open one and, if the centre did not wish to conduct it, then Kahutia should run the tournament off its own bat. Mr.-Eaton’s suggestion was received wTh approval and the matter was left, in the hands of the incoming executive to - act upon.
