IRISH OUTRAGES POWERS UNDER NEW BILL (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 12,30 p.m. RUGBY. July 28. Speaking in the House of Commons to-day, the Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, said that he had been told that had the Government two days ago had the powers now conferred by t(ie Prevention of Violence Bill, it was very likely that the Government might have forestalled one, or other of the recent Irish Republican Army outrages. It is reported that the President of Eire, Mr. E. dc Valera, called a special meeting of his Cabinet at Dublin to consider a plan for immediate action against the Irish Republican Army extremists in Eire and special legislation to deal with Irish Republican Army members deported from England.
