FROM INDIA TO EGYPT
TRANSFER OF TROOPS BRITISH INTENTION PRECAUTIONARV .MEASURE (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Oiiicini Wireless.) Reed. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, July 27. The War Office states: that the dispatch of certain troops at an early date from India to Egypt is a precautionary measure and is intended to increase the strategic reserve in the Middle East. It is welcomed; by the Egyptian Government. There is no intention c.f sending the troops (o Palestine. A Bombay message states that following the dispatch of Indian troops to Egypt, it is learned that a batch of Sikhs and Mahrattas will shortly go to Singapore. It is believed that a rarge concentration of Indian troops will shortly be stationed at Fiji.
