HAWKE'S BAY AREA
COLD PREVENTS THAW PERIOD OF THREE DAYS (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. Extremely cold conditions in Hawke’s Bay during the last three days have prevented much of the snow that has fallen from melting and various districts, particularly the central areas, have had the almost unparalleled experience of a threeday blanket of snow. Despite the conditions elsewhere in the province and in New Zealand, ‘he areas flanking the Bay itself have escaped comparatively lightly.
