The chairman, Mr. F. R. Ball, the managing-secretary, Mr. R. P. Baigent, and the engineer, Mr. F. Maithcwson, were appointed by the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board to-day to attend the annual conference of the Electric-Power Boards and Supply Authorities’ Association from September 11 to 15. Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P., has arranged to visit Gpotiki on August 1. to meet borough and county council representatives at a public meeting to discuss matters in connection with rood and rail facilities. lie will return to Wellington on the following day. News was conveyed by Mr. T. Corson itjo last evening’s meeting of the Gisborne Bowling Club that Mr. A. Stonebam, a prominent member of the club, had arrived l at Wellington by the R.M.S. Rangitata after a trip abroad. The secretary, Mr. R. R. Baldrey, was instructed to extend a welcome home to Mr. Stonebam on behalf of the club. Eater in the evening the club elected Mr, Stoneham a life member in recognition of his long association with the club and his services on the committee and as president
