SURPRISE TO MR. JONES
NO OFFICIAL ADVICE (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this clay. Surprise was expressed by the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, when his attention was drawn to the cable message stating that Pan American Airways had decided to inaugurate an air mail seryice to Australia next month. “I have heard nothing about the service to Australia by the company,” he said. “The only way that suggests itself to me is that any such service should be via Auckland.”
