DUSTING OF SNOW

FALL AT TE KARAKA Te Karaka experienced a dusting of snow this morning and ithe temperature under cover dropped to an exceptionally low level overnight. The minimum was 22 degrees, which was believed to be one of -the lowest readings on (record. At 9 a.m. to-day the temperature was still as low as 34 degrees. A lew flakes of snow were seen in Te Karaka .about noon yesterday, but this morning’s fall between 9 and 10 a.m. was heavier. The ground was not completely covered, but on mounds and on Ihe grass at the side of Ithe road there was a sprinkling. The hills in the ccfunlry behind Te Karaka were still obscured at 10 a.m. to-day, but last evening .the exposed positions appeared to have a thick covering of sno.w.
