NEW BAULKS NEEDED
BRITISH SALVAGE CRAFT WORK ON SUBMARINE (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, July 26. The Liverpool and Glasgow Salvage Association stated that the Zelo has returned to Birkenhead. It is added: “We cannot guarantee that in future Thetis salvage operations there will not be a recurrence of a concentrated load upon two bau'lks and in view of that uncertainty it becomes necessary to provide baulks throughout the Zelo which will take a concentrated load. This load cannot be assumed to come under t'he given baulks in any order.
“This means that there will require to be a isubstantial margin of safety in each baulk and the necessary adjustments will now be made on the Zelo.”
