ORGANISATION BY NAZIS TRADE AND POLITICS PETITION TO (JOYEENMENT FEAR OF GERMAN DRIVE (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 27, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 26. Messages from Bucharest state that leading Rumanians at Timisoara, the capital of the Banat province adjoining Hungary, have presented a 100page petition to the Government urging immediate action to prevent the German majority in the province strangling the Rumanians economically.

The German population of the province is 250,000.

The Bucharest agent of Reuter’s service says that the Germans throughout the province are organised oh Nazi lines with their own formalions supervising a complete boycott of Rumanian traders. Timisoara has become the headquarters of tne German minority throughout Rumania and is ordering the social and commercial life of Germans and forcing out of business those refusing to join the organisation.

Seven Naz.i newspapers throughout Banat are participating in a German press campaign against Britain.

Rumania refused the German request for a free zone on the J3ega canal from Timisoara to Hungary, because the areas are of strategic importance.
