RED TRIANGLE DAY
APPEAL FOR Y.M.C.A. STREET SALES ON FRIDAY The annual street sales by the Gisborne Y.M.C.A. for the purpose of making an appeal to the general public for funds to carry on the work of the institution will be held on Friday. It is confidently expected that the response will be even better than in former years. The organisation of the effort is in the hands of Miss E. Hegariy, who will have associated with her a band of willing helpers. The Gisborne and East Coast Y.M.C.A. is now in its twentieth year of service in the interests of the youth of the town and district. Commencing with a very small membership, the association has grown until it fills a real community need. It is a noSsectarian, non-political movement pledged to the mental, spiritual, and physical uplift of youth. In carrying out its programme and in community service the association confacts hundreds of young people each week.
The local association is governed by a local board of directors, and all the money received is used in the development of the work in Gisborne.
