10½D-TAX ISLAND
LONDON, June G. Guernsey’s Parliament is being asked to vote £IBO,OOO in three years for island defence. It is the biggest sum ever asked from Guernsey. When the Guernsey rate of income tax was raised last year from tenpence to tenpence-hall'penny the increase was estimated to yield £3500.
