PROVINCE UNDER SNOW
HEAVY IX SOUTHLAND (Ter Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. Southland is experiencing a wintry snap and snow was fairly general throughout the province last night and this morning. The fall averaged four to five inches, with about an inch M Invercargill. The only service disorganised is that between Queenstown and Invercargill due to a heavy fall of snow in the high country. It is reported from Gar.-Non and Athol that the fall was exceptionally heavy, the depth there being 18in. The train service to Invercargill and the train services to the various districts are uninterrupted.
