UNREST REVIVED

“SPAIN FOR SPANIARDS’' ITALIAN SWAY RESENTED LEADERS IN CIVIL WAR IGNORED IN HONOURS LIST (Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 25, 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 24. The Hendaye correspondent of the Associated Press of Britain says that evidence is accumulating that General Franco is facing -a serious situation as a result of a bid for power by various elements.

It appears that the pro-Italian Falangists, whose leader, the Minister of the Interior, Senor Suiier, is General Franco’s brother-in-law, have gained the ascendancy, the first sign of which was the removal of General Del Lano on Friday, also General Yague. Both recently made speeches advocating drastic action toy the army in order to secure “Spain for the Spaniards.” General Del Lano publicly complained that, whereas he and other leaders were largely responsible for the Nationalist victory, none had received honours which were showered on foreigners. A decree banning all public meetings gives Senor Suner complete control of all demonstrations.

Reports reaching the frontier at Hendaye indicate that General Franco has taken extraordinary measures to prevent the dispute between the Falangists and the military leaders flaring up into serious disorder. Noncommissioned officers demobilised after the war have been-, recalled to the colours.
