Last Night’s Forecast General Situation: The main centre of the recent depression.; is now east of the South Island, and pressure i« rising generally. Secondary disturbances. however, are still likely to cross the Dominion. Forecast: Winds strong south-west-erly generally, probably reaching gale force in exposed positions on the East Coast and in the north and south. Seas: In New Zealand waters, high norih of Cape Egmont and about Foveaux Strait, rough elsewhere on the west coast, and rising considerably south of East. Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong south-westerly winds to gales and rough to high seas. Weather: Fair in Westland, otherwise stormy and changeable, with frequent showers: hail probable in places. Temperatures: Becoming very cold, with anew on the higher country of both islands and extending to parts of the lower levels in Canterbury. Otago and Southland.
