YOUNG MAN FINED
TROUBLE ON RAILCAR SEQUEL IN WAIROA COURT (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, ibis day. A little bother on the railcar travdlling between Wairoa and Napier on Saturday had its sequel in the Wairoa Polipe Court yesterday, when John Doyle, aged 25, a plumber, appeared before Messrs. J. Gorki 11 and V. E. Winter, J.P.s, to _ answer a charge of behaving in a disorderly manner, while drunk in a public place. The defendant pleaded guilty and was convicted and fined £5, in default one monkh’s (imprisonment. Sergeant D. Clark told the court that the defendant was well known. On Saturday he journey to Hastings on the railcar to attend a funeral. He had a flask of whisky with him and got drunk. On returning to Wairoa in the railcar he picked an argument with a Chinese, calling him nasty names and using rough language. The defendant could not find his ticket and the guard threatened to put him off the train. On arrival at Wairoa he demanded a taxi from the railwaymen and then abused , them. When a constable arrived at the railway station the defendant was using filthy language to the railwaymen. The Bench pointed out that the defendant was liable to a fine of £lO, or three months’ imprisonment.
