Sir Alfred Ranscm: The honourable •ontlcmen may laugh, but that is what term any did in connection with the iroduee of the Argentine and other :ountrics, and there is no reason why ;hc should not have done so in the case of New Zealand.
Then, he asked, what had the Gov'iomeni done in connection with land ■ettlemcnt in the Dominion? The policy of the government was to own the land, and he people on it would become the ervants of the State.
