Fat sheep sold to a rising market at Stortford Lodge stock sale yesterday, marked increases being seen for good quality lines. For prune .cattle there was also keen competition, the rates being fully (inn and, in some cases, up on recent sales. A few inferior quality store cattle which were ode red attracted little alienlion. Hoggets made the best selling m the store sheep section. There w.talso an inquiry for .sound quality breeding ewes. .Realisations were:--Fat Cattle.—Polled Angus heifeis, tops to £9 18s, lighter finished lines £(! 5s to £8 Ills; bullocks to £ll 7s (kb Polled Angus cows, tops £ll lit, medium quality Cfi to 117 Ids; very light cows for works, I‘4 to £4 Ida. Store Sheep.—Ewe hoggets Ids to 20s; wether hoggets, medium order, mixed and light -condition, 10s (id to 12s; sound-mouthed five-year breeding ewes to 19s (id; aged breeding ewe.-, poor condition, to 9s; aged store ewes 8s Id. Fat Sheep,--Prime heavy, guaranteed empty ewes, lGs to 17s: two-tooth wethers. Ids 4,1; wethers, good condition generally, 10s to 18s; lambs, Ms to 17s Id: tops, 23s to 25s fid.
