PARK CLUB LADIES The winner of the L.G.U. medal round in tire B section of the Park Ladies' Golf Club last week-end was Miss Haisman, 102—31—71, with Miss Lane, 112—30—70, second, while in he C section the best card was handed in by Miss. M. Heaslip, with diss R- Scott second. Mrs. Alley again retained the McMurray Star and. will be challenged by Miss R. Scott. The J.K. Stars were won by Mrs. Veils and Miss M. Haisman, who will play Misses Gordon and Izod during the week-end. Senior and Junior Championships The first qualifying rounds of the senior championship for the K. De Costa Cup, and for the junior championship for Mrs. J. The third round of ‘die men's handicap tournament also will be played, and in conjunction with it a Stableford handicap. The following have been drawn: 'R. Gordon and W. McMurray; R. Clarke and W. Carroll; D. Ross and J. H. Cato; T. Moore and L. A. Haggie; R. Jones and C. Fletcher. Players not drawn for the Stableford competition can arrange for partners at the clubhouse. MAKAREKA AND RUATORIA The members of the Makarika Golf' Club visited Ruatoria and spent a very enjoyable day. The weather conditions were ideal and the greens were in excellent order. Morning tea was provided at the residence of Mrs. E. Williams, and at the conclusion of play in the afternoon the visitors were entertained at a dainty afternoon tea served in the lounge of the Manutahi Hotel. Mr. K. Kissling, on behalf of the visitors, thanked the Ruatoria players for their hospitality. The Ruatoria club captain, Mr. B. Tcwai, responded thanking Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Burton for the use of the lounge and stressing the importance of inter-club games.

The winners in the hidden, hole competition were Mrs. J. Hogan and J. Rogers. 'Results were as follows, Makarika players being mentioned first in each case:—

Men. —K. Kissling lost to B. Tewai, 5 down; T. Thompson bent E. Williams, 4 up: J. Barton beat A. Ferguson, 2 up; H. Smith beat D. Barford, 1 up; J, Rogers beat P. Whaipooti, 7 up; M.

Gardner lost to T. Opcnshaw, G down; T. Smith bent L. R. Hitchens, 0 up; M. Gilmore beat W. Priestly. 5 up; S. J. Plummer lost to J. Smith, 5 down; L. Mills lost to G. Wheeler, 4 down: J. A. Smith and J. Hogan, all'square; O. Thompson and W. H. O. Johnstone, all square. Makarika were two matches lip.
